Artie Rivers
Pastor

Artie has been at Mount Hermon Baptist Church since September 12, 1988.  He previously served as pastor of Lakeview Baptist Church in Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee, and then West 22nd Street Baptist Church in Granite City, Illinois.  Artie is a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort, Worth, Texas.

He has served in leadership roles in the Shiloh Baptist Association, the Hardin County Ministerial Association, the Savannah Rotary Club, the Hardin County High School Band Boosters, the Salvation Army, as well as other community committees and organizations.

Artie, and his wife, Barbara, have three children.  Daughter Jennifer is married to Brian Baird, and they have a one year old daughter, Lauren.  They reside in Clarkton, Missouri.  Daughter Christie is married to Clay Elliott, and they reside in Clarksville, Indiana.  Clay is a student at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.  Son Ben is a student at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, and is engaged to be married to Magen Thomas, from Brandon, Mississippi (also a student at Union).

Ricky Sample
Worship Leader

Ricky Sample has been at Mount Hermon Baptist Church since March 4, 1996.  He previously served as Minister of Music and Youth at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah.  He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in Oxford, Mississippi.  Ricky is bi-vocational, serving full-time as president of the Savannah branch of Home Banking Company.  Though bi-vocational, Ricky does the work of a full-time Worship Leader!

Under his leadership, our Sanctuary Choir has grown to just under 50 members.  The music ministry at Mount Hermon Baptist Church now consists of our adult Sanctuary Choir, "Exalted" (youth choir), children's choir, children's handbell choir, a choirchime ensemble, an instrumental worship ensemble, and various vocal ensembles.

The Lord has greatly blessed the music ministry at Mount Hermon, and He continues to use Ricky Sample as an instrument of revival and worship.

Ricky has been involved in leadership roles in the Shiloh Baptist Association, the Kiwanis Club, and many other community organizations and committees.

Ricky, and his wife, Pam, have two children.  Daughter Emily is married to Jonathan Spiceland, and they have a one year old son, Porter.  They reside in Oakland, Tennessee.  Son Rick is a student at Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee.

John Sellers
Associate Pastor, Students and Education

Mount Hermon Baptist Church welcomes John Sellers as our new Associate Pastor, Students and Education.  John comes to us from Panama City, Florida, by way of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina.  While at Southeastern, John earned a Master of Divinity Degree.  He is also a graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando.

John has held two ministry intern positions, and is an experienced speaker and worship leader.  He plays trombone, guitar, and keyboard.  He has been heavily involved in student work in several different Churches, both as a student, and as a leader.  John is presently a small group leader at North Wake Church.

John's wife, Rebecca, is from West Palm Beach, Florida.  They have one 2 year old son, Brighton.

The Sellers family will be moving to Mount Hermon Baptist Church and Savannah, Tennessee during the month of August.
