Ministries

Sunday School
Our desire is for everyone to have a vibrant, life-changing relationship with God. Our purpose for Sunday School is to provide a place where individuals can experience God through three important elements. Friendships - Sunday School provides you with a small group of friends that love and care for each other, fellowship together, and grow spiritually together. Bible Study - Sunday School provides the opportunity to discover the faith stories of believers, and the great truths of the Bible as God impacts each of our lives through His Word. Ministry - God has given us each specific gifts to use in ministry. A Sunday School Class provides you with many avenues to serve God and to fulfill His purpose in your life. We invite you to connect with a Sunday School Class at Mount Hermon. Classes are offered for everyone from newborns to senior adults and begin each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m.

Worship/Music Ministry
In our music ministry, our desire is to keep worship about the one who is worthy of our worship-- our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There is a choir for everyone. Choirs range from ages preschool through adults. Our adult choir meets on Sunday afternoons at 5:30 p.m. Our youth choir "Exalted" meets on Wednesday evenings and leads in worship on most Sunday evenings and during worship services on our Mission Impact Mission Trips. We invite you to join the Worship/Music Ministry at Mount Hermon.

Men's Ministry/Baptist Men
God has called men to be the spiritual leaders in their home. Baptist Men are the men of the church taking seriously God’s call to be the husbands, fathers, mentors and churchmen who He has charged them to be. Being a godly man is the foundation to being part of the Baptist Men On Mission, because a godly man will be a godly husband, a godly father, and a godly mentor. Our Baptist Men meet the first Sunday of each month for a great breakfast, fellowship, and to focus on outreach and missions in our community, our state, our country, and our world.

Women's Ministry - Engaging, encouraging, and equipping women to glorify God in our community and in our world.
We want to encourage ladies in their daily walk, teaching them how to love God, love their husbands and families, and how to serve one another. We offer various Bible studies and conferences throughout the year to do this. Our ladies meet once a quarter for a "Ladies Night Out" of food, fellowship, fun, and missions.

Student Ministry
Mount Hermon Student Ministry is very active in ministering to the needs of Middle School, High School, and College Students. Under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, this ministry works at equipping and encouraging young people to be leaders in their church, school, and community. Our students are highly motivated and love "hands on missions". We invite students to our Wednesday Night Student Worship at 6:30 p.m. in our Worship Center. On Sunday mornings we have wonderful teachers leading in Bible Study.

Mission Impact
Each year Mount Hermon Baptist Church is involved in a church-wide mission trip involving around 95 “impacters”.  We have served in Granite City, Illinois, Albion, Michigan (2 times), Ames, Iowa, and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. In the past, we have conducted revival services, Backyard Bible Clubs, a church construction ministry, a health fair, a baseball clinic, and an outdoor community concert.  "Exalted" (our youth choir) leads in the revival services.

Children's Ministry
We love children at Mount Hermon Baptist Church. We believe church should be a fun and exciting place for kids to come and learn about God. We seek to train children on what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and how to live for Him daily. We do this through a variety of ways such as: Recreational Activities, Sunday School, Discipleship Training, Mission Friends, R.A.'s, G.A.'s Vacation Bible School and Children's Choir.

Preschool Ministry
The preschool department at Mount Hermon serves newborn through Kindergarten. Our goal is to provide quality childcare and a solid learning foundation early in life for a child's relationship with Jesus Christ. We do this in our preschool department through Sunday School, Discipleship, Mission Friends, etc. We believe even our smallest children can learn about God's love for them.

Young At Heart (Senior Adult)
Our Young At Heart have monthly fellowship opportunities and short trips.  We do a little sight-seeing and always stop for a meal.
